Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. What are the Core Beliefs of Living Branch Church (LBC)?
2. Is Living Branch Church “spirit-filled”?
Yes. LBC believes the Holy Spirit is active and moving today, which is taught in the Bible. (See Statement of Faith)
3. Does LBC believe in an absolute truth?
In a world of uncertainty and questions, the only absolute is that God and His Word (the Bible) are absolutely true, inerrant, and infallible. He is totally trustworthy and He never changes. He is the only constant. (See Statement of Faith)
4. Does LBC support missions?
Yes. LBC has a number of missionaries that we consistently support throughout the various continents of the world, including church plants both domestic and abroad. The Bible also commands Believers to share the Good News of Christ, both abroad as well as in their personal communities, neighborhoods, workplaces, etc.
5. Should a Christian actively share his/her faith?
Yes. We are commanded to share the Good News of Jesus Christ in His Word (the Bible) and therefore should practice encouraging others to accept a relationship with Christ. (Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 1:8)
6. What does it mean to accept Christ and how do I do it?
7. Why is attending a church important?
The Holy Scriptures explain that it is important to actively participate in a regular fellowship of other believers (Heb. 10:24-25). The main purposes of this fellowship are accountability, encouragement, fellowship, support, and oneness in Christ. (John 17:20-23; Eph. 2:19-22)
8. Are the Gifts of the Holy Spirit still happening?
Yes. The Gifts of the Holy Spirit are for all believers, not just for the apostles. They did not end with the death of the last apostle, but rather are still active today as a display of God’s power as they are manifested in order, respect, and submission to the authority of God. (John 14:12; Acts 1:8; Acts 1:17-21)
9. What does LBC believe about Water Baptism?
The Greek word used in the New Testament for Baptism is "baptizo", which is the same word used in ancient Greek to describe an immersion. Baptism by immersion symblizes the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus and is your public declaration that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. Baptism does not save, you, but shows the world that you have already been saved. And while Baptism is not required for salvation, it is a biblical command and demonstrates one's love and obedience to Christ. (Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 2:38-41; Acts 9:17-18; Rom. 6:3-8)
10. Is Jesus Christ returning a second time for Believers?
Yes. The Bible says no person knows the exact time or day. But while the exact time may be unclear, one thing is clear in the Scriptures—Jesus will return for His people. (Acts 1:9-11; I Thess. 4:15-17; Rev. 1:7)
11. What opportunities does LBC provide for families?
LBC believes in strong marriages (a covenant union between a man and woman) and strong families. Through various ministries (such as numerous Children's Ministries, Student Ministries, Men's Ministries, and Women's Ministries), Life Groups (variety of weekly gatherings designed for teaching practical Christian principles and building relationships, marriages, families, and friendships), purposeful social events, and relevant teaching series/messages, Living Branch Church desires to equip today's Believers with tools (parenting skills, financial management techniques, marriage-building groups, etc.) necessary to not just survive, but to thrive in the culture and world around us. Since the Bible commands Believers to share both the Good News of Christ and how the Holy Spirit can help Believers through challenges of today, LBC also provides opportunities to learn how to share one's faith and reach out to the surrounding community. These opportunities bring families together and promote healthy, strong relationships.
The beliefs of Living Branch Church are outlined under "Core Beliefs". During the LBC 101 Course offered at LBC, Core Beliefs are discussed. If interested in attending the next LBC 101 course offered at LBC, email info@lbclife.org.
